I am going to offer a settlement tomorrow. I probably will offer this car as a temp car for my stbxw (divorcing/seperated etc).. Finally, convinced my husband that his credit couldn't get any worse (he was worried about the settlement appeari..Just settled with Citibank for 50%. One quick point I should make is that all 8 CC accounts have balanced of less than 3200.. The debt was with Capital Management but it had only been there for a month. I am not sure which is better to pay off first: credit cards still with the actual credit card company (discover, chase, etc) with a larger balance ($2000-$4000 range) or smaller debts ($400-$500 range) that have gone to collections. I know there are several threads here on dealing with Cap..Hi everyone- I am currently enrolled with a debt settlement company that is helping me settle 8 CC I have.I am currently 90+ days behind on a Cap. Last week I was offered a 50% settlement, spread out over 75 days. So far they have been very nice, polite, and very willing to work with me. But I don't want a hardship program..... I have been paying the debt off for about six years now..I'm trying to determine the best course of action here, searching for some opinions prior to retaining my lawyer..Just wondering if anyone knows if South Carolina is one of the states where debt settlement is legal.. in the beginning td bank had no problems sending monthly statements but then when i moved they stopped and refused to send any statements and just keep telling me how nice they are being to me by not charging me any interest on the debt. I have put
